Pakistan Cricket Board is considering to restrict Pakistani players from playing T20 global league. PCB want its players to participate in domestic t20 tournament. If this news is true, it can be a big blow for the T20GL.
According to some reliable sources in PCB, all the contracted players have to participate in at least 3 domestic tournaments each year. This move by Pakistan Cricket Board have put a big question mark on participation of Pakistani players in global league t20 tournament.
Recently, its been seen that most of the Pakistani players playing Caribbean Premier League were called back for fitness test for National T20 Cup. For this action PCB faced a huge criticism because of change in the schedule of NT20 and players were allowed to join T20CPL again.
According to our source:
“Players were clearly unhappy with that and some expressed their displeasure over the unprofessional approach of the concerned department.”
This action may create a serious conflict between 2 countries board, PCB and CSA, and with players as well.
“We have seen how in other countries players have backed out of their national contracts to continue with their league careers. With leagues popping up from different parts of the world and providing great financial incentives to players, it looks very difficult for any board to stop players from participating in leagues.”
If PCB wants more cricket on Pakistani soil then they have to maintain good relationships with other countries cricket boards. Pakistani players not playing t20 global league can spoil the relationships between CSA and PCB.
Now imagine that the Global T20 league is underway in November and PCB schedules the National T20 in November too. How will PCB stop players from going to South Africa, especially after South Africa sent five players to support Pakistan’s cause of international cricket at home.
Lets see what will be the end results, T20 global league is starting from 3rd November 2017 and final will be played 16 December. Stay tuned for more updates on #T20GL.
